Featured Needlepoint Shop

The Needlepaint Nook

The Needlepaint Nook is a full-service needlepoint shop specializing in individual instruction and personal attention. Located in the historic hamlet of Merrick, New York, The Needlepaint Nook is the longest running needlepoint shop on Long Island.

"Come visit us. We can't wait to meet you!"

The Needlepaint Nook

The shop first opened in 1973, and was purchased in March 1997 by Janice Tillis, an avid needlepointer and customer of the previous owner, whose love and enthusiasm for the art inspired her to embrace the business aspects of the industry as well as the creative ones.

Janice set about redecorating and redesigning the shop to create an attractive, bright, and efficient space for her customers. She enlisted the invaluable aid of her manager, Pat, and a knowledgeable and experienced staff. The result was a big success, rekindling the interest in needlepoint in the area, and inspiring both new and returning customers.

The Needlepaint Nook also offers finishing and framing services, as well as custom hand-painted canvases, and in-house personalization to suit your individual needs. A huge selection of fibers and accessories are also available to enhance your canvases and stitching experience.

Hand-painted canvases from the best designers in the industry line the walls, providing a plethora of options for stitching. The helpful, friendly staff is also happy to special-order any items not currently in stock.
